Food4Sustainability CoLab recruits specialists in different areas
The Food4Sustainability CoLAB (F4S), based in Idanha-a-Nova, is recruiting 13 specialists in different areas. Approved by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT), the CoLAB obtained a five-year funding of 7.8 million euros.
F4S will foster research around the development and testing of sustainable intensification systems, on capacity building of farmers to adopt these systems and on dissemination, education and experimentation among to different communities of interest.
The collaborative laboratory is led by the accelerator Building Global Innovators (BGI) and mobilizes resources from academy, companies, public administration, and agri-food associations.
The F4S main goal is the development of advanced techniques for healthy food production, with improvements in CO2 mitigation, null use of chemicals, sustainable intensification, water preservation, and environmental impact, among others.
CoLAB will pioneer the shift from linear to circular agri-food production processes.
